Week One: 2011 Beauty Challenge

This weeks beauty challenge is wearing regular makeup. I know for many women, as we take on more responsability, we tend to do less and less for ourselves. We stop doing our hair, makeup, etc. There just isn't enough time.

So lets try this tip this week!

Either put your moisturizer on then your foundation or apply them together to save time. Pick a color that you could wear on your cheeks, eyes and even lips... like a soft brown to a cranberry pink. Just because it says it's a blush or eyeshadow, doesn't mean you can't use them in other areas. Take a blush brush and run the color over your cheeks, you can take a small brush and use that color in the crease of your eyes. Use that same color to mix with some gloss and you've got your lipstick. Take a dark brown color to fill in your eyebrows and use in the lower outer corner of your eyes and outer corner of the upper lid as a light eyeliner. Add several coats of mascara and you're all set!

The Inside Scoop...

Applying makeup about more than just looking good on the outside. It does something on the inside. You are pampering yourself and making yourself a priority. Your taking a few moments to feel like a woman again. When you know you're put together, and you walk out that door...as you get attacked and bombarded with life...you feel more confident and composed.

So as LOreal has said for years...You're Worth It!

2011 Beauty Challenge

Ladies, how much time do we spend on out appearance every day? How much money do we spend on color, cuts and styling products? How much of our "self talk" is negative? If we talked to each other like we talk to ourselves, we wouldn't have any friends! So my challenge for 2011 is to walk through each week this year focusing on inner and outer beauty. Each week, I'm going to post a different beauty challenge. As women, we give out so much, and often neglect ourselves...so this challenge is to take a few minutes to rejuvenate ourselves and regain our identity as beautiful and confident women of worth. From head to toe, inside and out, we'll be discussing hot topics and issues of the heart.

There's a woman that is intriguing to me, that has exhibited pose, confidence, beauty, and wisdom in difficult circumstances. She didn't have an easy start but she later became a queen of Persia. Her wisdom and influence effected many lives. Her name was Esther. She had a rough start, she lost both of her parents and was raised by her uncle. We're not sure if her uncle was married or if she had a woman in her life to help teach her how to grow up to be a young woman. So no matter what your circumstance, or background...you can overcome the odds and become poised, wise, and beautiful inside and out.

So sign on to take the challenge with me, and we'll see what change can happen in the new year!

Glam Ur Ink!

We're launching the hottest thing to hit the west coast! We'd like to introduce to you, Glam Ur Ink! Have a tattoo? Don't cover it up to go to a special event or wedding! Dress up your tat to go to the club, go on a date, or just to get attention! You've thought about what art you'd like to display forever...now show it off!

What is Glam Ur Ink?!
It's a glitter tattoo and it lasts 7-10 days! So go ahead...shower, change clothes, wear it day and night for several days! It looks amazing in the sun, and accents your ink at night! Big or small, our goal is not to cover up your art but to accent and draw attention to it! Add Swarovski crystals along with the glitter tattoos to add more sparkle!

Featured in our shoot, are dresses from Dolly Couture in LA (www.dollycouture.com). We worked with 2 of the best photographer in the wedding business: Eric Hedman (www.ewhphoto.com) and James Hong (www.perpixelphoto.com)...these guys are so unique and have such a wonderful eye for all things beautiful. I love how Eric uses everything around him to create lighting, and ambiance to every photo with detail to accentuating the beauty in every shot. James has an eye for bringing nature to life as a frame around his subject. You can't help but feel comfortable around him, and he manages to pull out the most natural smile from each model. I loved watching both photographers take their passion and turn it into an art form.

So show off! We guarantee people will be talking everywhere you go!

Here's what people are saying about the BYOM Class:

Lana: "I went to a few of Marzette's make up classes and loved them! She's so helpful and sweet and makes the classes personal to the make up you already have and suggests some great new products!"

Mariah: "I went to The Wow factor's makeup class, I learned the proper colors to wear on my face, how to apply my blush and how to make my cheeks highlighted and darker. I learned that makeup is an illusion, and different makeup looks (light lip with dark eye, etc), what makeup looks are good for school/weekends, and how to apply eye makeup according to the shape of my little beady eyes. I can't wait to go to another class! I'm bringing friends next time!"

Cindy: "I recently went to The Wow Factor's, bring your own makeup class, I wasn't sure what to expect or what even I would be able to take from it. I soon realized that with a few tips, in a class like this, I could do my own makeup with what I ALREADY had, and have it look like a professional did it. I would highly recommend anybody to come attend these classes! It will be well worth your time!"

Hope to see you there!
